Calow Community Gardening Group began in September 2021. It's run by a dedicated team of volunteers who are keen to recruit new members. If you are interested contact: Sue Addison (0778 2213355 – suecalow246@gmail.com) or Kaye Twomlow (0789 1349996 - akt75@hotmail.co.uk) For more information see https://www.calowparishcouncil.gov.uk/calow-community-gardening-group.html If you aren't on social media, we'll see you're kept informed – we want everyone to feel welcome to join us either at a "one off" event or to get more actively involved. Meanwhile here's "What we plan to do in 2022!": 1. Join the East Midlands in Bloom group which is part of the RHS (already done). 2. Buy tools and equipment. 3. Recruit new members - we hope it could be you... 4. Maintain the trees in Eastwood Park. 5. Replace the lost acers for our First World War soldiers' trees. 6. Plant 4 native cherry trees for the Jubilee. 7. Plant a community orchard on Lawn Villas. 8. Design and plant our "Jubilee Garden" on Top Road / Dark Lane. 9. Plant up Jubilee Planters at the new parish signs. 10. Replant our existing planters after spring flowering. 11. Hold talks and demonstrations including a "Question Time" to help new and experienced gardeners. And finally look out for the daffodils popping up all over the village – it was our first project last autumn… |
